I have been working out side 

in my wonderful yard

as much as I can, 

despite some rain here and there.

We own a .5 acre.

Not a ton of land.

But enough to keep me pretty busy.

DUCKS IN MY TREE

Yesterday was a "yard work day"

aka Sunday Funday...

I LOVE working in my yard.

Probably the ONLY person in this world! 

hahahaaaa! 

I was in the middle of weed whacking 

around the fence and trees when I 

discovered her.

A duck.

A mommy duck protecting her nest of eggs.

AMAZING.

Dave and I almost cried we were so

touched to see a duck so close.

And IN A TREE!!!

Not to mention Dave's favorite animals are ducks:)

WOW.

Just saying.

So what do you do with OLD beat up things?

Should you toss em? 

Or should you give up on them?

The answer, 

my dear friends is you RECYCLE them!!!

Give them a new life damn it!

I was in wonderful Skaneateles NY

visiting my BFF Erin Abrams this past weekend...

And we did your usual...

drank Tequila...

danced...

talked and told each other how much

we love each other...

(the next day)

We laughed about the crazy events of the night before...

got breakfast @ John Angels...

(walking distance from her NEW apartment)

Shopped...

Walked...

and shopped so more!

We found a RUMMAGE sale at a church!

And this is where my topic comes in...

I found an OLD BEAT UP red Pyrex bowl for 50 cents...

and I said what the HELL...

I bought it.

It looks GREAT in this blurred cell phone pic!

But its beat to hell.

Def. seen its better day.

I also got the one below for a  great price

 at a local thrift store in Skinny.

Any who, this is what I decided to do with the beat up Pyrex.

And there you have it!

A new (but very old) planter!

I freaking LOVE it!

I love it so much I am on a mission to find more used up Pyrex,

to give them a new life!!!!

My kitchen is complete.

(finally)

Recently, I purchase a 30 yard roll

of vintage contact paper 

from Esty. 

 I loved it so much when I saw it online,

I had to have it.

I never expected to love it as much as I do.

(come on I am blogging about it! hehe)

The colors are so much more vivid in person,

than they look online.

And the quality is incredible, 

especially giving its vintage age.

1976:)

WOW!

Also, 30 yards of contact paper is A LOT!

I have so much left over!

I am going to shelve my dad's kitchen...

and I know there will be lots more to

craft with, 

even after I am through with that!

AWESOME!

 Friday Night.

Friday night was my night to 

cut and lay this FUNKY paper down in my cupboards.

Dave sat and chatted with me while I measured and cut.

We had cocktails.

...even Henry the Cat got into the action:)

Oh Henry!

Dave and I had many in depth conversations 

about the history of industry and how things have changed.

We also, studied the back of this contact paper,

realizing the value of advertisement!

You can wall paper with this contact paper!

what???

Just incredible to me.

Just so you know...

I am saving these:)

History is important...

even if it's through contact paper!

LOL:)

It was a good, productive night.

I got to spend time with my Boo.

And I have a new found appreciating for vintage

adds and production! 

(I know I am weird)

~But that's what makes me KIMMIE!~ 

Here is the finished product!

sigh~

The best part about this paper is

it goes with my Pyrex collection,

my retro glasses,

and my kitchen cabinets seem to just

beam with color!
